Philips DVP3962/37 Review Region Free Code For HDMI Divx DVD Player
Review and region code hacks for the Philips new progressive scan DVD Player w/ 1080i Upconversion – DVP3962/37.
My wife bought this player a few days ago in on the cheap and I have to admit that this is one heck of a player!! So far it has played everything that I have thrown at it and it does it very well. I have a few DivX, MPG, VCD, MP3, XviD and even some DVD-R’s and they all play beautifully. If your looking for a quality player at a very reasonable price, then I highly recommend the Phillips DVP3962.

I too have this DVD player. You forgot to mention one other “format” that handles. It plays PAL DVD’s as well. 🙂
I tried your procedure for region free playing, and it works… Very nice, Thank You.
i paid 39.99 for this player…the best money i ever spent.thanks!!!!!
After very little use, mine only lasted about 6 years.
We bought this same DVD player about a year ago and it’s held up quite well to our two year old ‘testing it out’ on numerous occasions. It does play all kinds of formats. Don’t you think 6 years IS actually a long time for it to work for you? Just a thought. I mean, it was only 40 bucks.
Thank you so much for this post. I, too, bought this for $40 at Walmart 2 years ago. I had it set up to play all regions but a recent power outage reset the player to region 1 and I could not remember how to get my personal setting back.
I went out looking for this philips dvd model # 396 2/37 at Wal-Mart and found out they no longer carry it. Where can i purchase this product?

Klink: No, only works with a remote like this one here.
