Epson PictureMate Dash Photo Printer Review

Dash Review And Product Information On The Epson PictureMate Dash PM 260 Compact Photo Inkjet Printer.

Epson PictureMate Dash PM 260 is a very compact photo inkjet printer that gives you an easy to deal with portable photo printer that creates your own personal photo lab. The PictureMate Dash allows you create professional-quality photos that last up to 4 x longer than traditional lab prints with help from its patented Advanced MicroPiezo technology. You will be able to print 4 by 6 inch prints in less than one minute with this compact 9 by 13 by 10 inch photo printer that allows you to print PC-free using your USB flash drive, memory card or digital camera. Also you have the option to print wirelessly from your mobile phone by using a Bluetooth Adapter.

Epson’s PictureMate small-format photo printers have always been a crowd pleaser, but the company has really come into it’s own with its latest iteration, the PictureMate Dash. Even though the Dash is the low-cost version of the newest generation of PictureMates, it offers features I’m used to seeing only on printers that cost far more. It comes with a surprisingly big 3.6-inch LCD screen and has the ability to print from a wide range of sources. The Dash is also the fastest small-format photo printer I’ve seen at any price.

Dash4As with previous generation PictureMates, the Dash looks like a large cube with a handle on it. To set it up into a printer, you place it on a flat surface and rotate the handle to the back and out of the way. Opening the top cover reveals the controls and LCD panel underneath, and transforms the cover into the paper tray. The Dash uses the front cover to form the output tray.

Worth mentioning is the cost per photo. At around $38 or less if you look hard for a print pack with enough ink and paper for 150 photos, the cost is just 25 cents—the lowest price per print for any dedicated small-format photo printer. The current range for the category is from 27 to 30 cents. If you want matte photos, the price is a bit higher, at $33 for enough ink and paper for 100 photos, or 32+ cents each.

The Epson PictureMate Dash gives you a combination of features, speed, and output quality that until now has been unseen at this price. The Dash has redefined what you should demand in a low-cost, dedicated photo printer.
